celos

The quality in that video isn't great, but I like seeing them live - I love the white suits. Here's a vid with much better audio quality, and a neat site with (roughly) translated lyrics.

The song is so hauntingly beautiful... Speaking with Leandro about poetry and such he brought up an interesting point: The most beautiful poetry is poetry about loss and heartbreak.

Maybe when we are at our lowest, most vulnerable point we let down our defenses and let out our true feelings. Maybe when reading someone else's work, we find beauty in feeling or knowing that someone else is feeling like we did or do, or solace in knowing we're not all alone.

Still, I like to think that there's plenty of beautiful poetry about love, and other emotions, that isn't sad. Maybe we don't notice its beauty so much when we're already happy about something - or someone.

Just a thought.

Lover (in red)

If it was possible, I think I would fall in love with these shoes.

Took a nap (thanks for the wake up call Chris!) and I actually feel good and productive at this hour. Lots of work to do... so I'll probably be posting a bit more today, haha.

I'll justify them as constructive breaks, or something to that effect.

just a thought (David McCullough)

I can fairly be called an amateur because I do what I do, in the original sense of the word--for love, because I love it. On the other hand, I think that those of us who make our living writing history can also be called true professionals.

true friends

just came back from watching the celtics pound the lakers. it was awesome even if most ppl at the bar were rooting for la and gasol.

while there, i think i might've presenced the most touching act of friendship i can remember.

girl 1 - *points at girl 2* we gotta get her laid.
girl 3 - why?
girl 1 - she was w/ this guy for 6 years and just got out of it
girl 3 - oh, ok

would your friends go that extra mile for you? :p anyhow, what's a gentleman to do but help a damsel in distress? haha

i also just realized i might be in a room w/ nine fair ladies... spain just keeps getting better

i still need to find an appartment, though

Trains and Dams

Sunday was a nice day to go out and walk, so we went to the train station.

For lack of better words, this is an Old School train station.

We also went to the dam. The view from the railroad tracks was awesome.

They told us that it was "empty", and we could see how much the water level dropped, but there still seemed to be plenty of water.
